Message from The Board of Directors
Founded with the aim of establishing a permanent financial legacy to benefit Airdrie and area, we at ADCF are proud of the important milestones we achieved in 2017. Our Foundation began in 2017 as an acorn, and has now grown to a seedling, which in future years will be a mighty tree bearing fruit for our community forever.
We raised almost $100,000.00for endowments in fiscal 2017, and gave out our first grants to worthy recipients: $5,000 to Airdrie & District Victim’s Assistance; and $500 to The Airdrie Boys and Girls Club.
We also facilitated a $100,000.00 flow-through grant from a donor to the Airdrie Health Cooperative, via The City of Airdrie.
Many thanks to A.T.B. and Atco for their sponsorship of our fundraising Gala in May of 2017, and to the A.T.B. Cares program, which matched donations provided through A.T.B. of $6,315.
One of our main future goals is to raise awareness of the Foundation, and to continue to raise funds so that more recipients can benefit from our endowment funds. Our symbolic Founder’s Tree Program has been extended to December 31, 2018, wherein contributions of $1,000.00 or more gain recognition on our Founder’s Tree, which will soon be prominently displayed on our website at www.airdriefoundation.ca.
Looking ahead, we will be announcing donations for 2018 in April or May, and applications for grants are now being accepted.
The ADCF is a 100% volunteer run organization. The link to the full report and financial statement demonstrates how almost all of our revenue finds its way into our endowment funds.
