Meeting with Professional Advisors
On October 22, professional advisors from Airdrie and area met with the Board of Directors of the Foundation.
At the meeting, advisors provided information about themselves and the types of services they offer to donors and others. For the Foundation, it was an opportunity to explain how our charity contributes to the well-being of our community. That includes the grants it awards each year to local registered charities.
At the center of that effort is the permanent fund, now valued at more than $1 million. While other charities fund for present needs, the Foundation’s permanent fund is designed to last forever. We draw the interest and income from our invested fund to provide grants each year, grants representing at least 3% of the fund’s total value. In 2024, we awarded $30,000 in grants.
